About the Role:

Are you a detail-oriented Financial Accountant or Audit professional looking to pivot into the most exciting growth area in corporate reporting?

With the introduction of the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS), We are looking for a Sustainability Accountant to join our team.

Reporting to the Senior Treasury & Sustainability Finance Manager, the focus area is to assist with monthly management reporting, data collection, verification and investigation. With the changes of ASRS, there are opportunities for growth and learning. You will apply your accounting DNA—reconciliation, audit-readiness, and internal controls—to our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) datasets. This is a rare opportunity to keep your "accounting hat" on while building a future-proof career in the green economy. No prior sustainability experience is required; we will provide on the job training if you bring the accounting fundamentals.

What you’ll do:

  • Audit ready documentation: Maintain "audit-ready" documentation and evidence for sustainability disclosures, ensuring records are complete, accurate, and reviewready.
  • Data Integrity & Reconciliation: Deliver accurate and reconcile ESG datasets (carbon, energy, water, waste) that feed into monthly management reporting and Board reporting cycles.
  • External Submissions: Prepare and substantiate data and documentation for submission of global and local frameworks including GRESB, NABERS, and Green Star.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Support the business in transitioning to ASRS-aligned reporting, ensuring our disclosures meet all new regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the bridge between Finance, Treasury, and Operations to ensure consistent data definitions and standardized reporting practices.
  • Variance Analysis: Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, and Operations to support consistent data definitions and standardized reporting practices.

About you:

This role is perfect for a CA/CPA qualified (or nearly qualified) professional who loves the logic of accounting and is keen to it in a purpose-led .

  • The Fundamentals: You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Commerce and roughly 2+ years of experience in Financial Accounting or External Audit.
  • Strong audit Mindset": You naturally apply professional scepticism, checking, reconciling, and clearly documenting data rather than taking numbers at face value.
  • Excel Power User: You are highly proficient in Excel and comfortable working with large, complex datasets to identify and maintain a reliable single source of truth.
  • Analytical Curiosity: You enjoy understanding the drivers behind the numbers and can translate analysis into clear, practical insights for stakeholders.
  • Interest in ESG and sustainability: You’re keen to build your technical knowledge in areas such as carbon accounting and sustainability reporting frameworks.
  • Processfocused and detailoriented: You work in a structured, disciplined way and take pride in producing accurate, high‑quality reporting
